Break out your tuxedos and dresses and grab your lucky charms - it's time for CASINO NIGHT!

Let's all take the time to thank our staff for the hard work and dedication that they bring to the office and take the opportunity to let loose. M-OCDS is excited to bring back the highly coveted Staff Appreciation Night with a theme of Casino Royale. And if you weren't feeling lucky just yet, M-OCDS is subsidizing tickets at a discounted cost for our amazing members ($65 per person). So, roll the dice, spin the wheel, and keep those chips coming!

Open to members of Monmouth-Ocean County Dental Society and their staff. Must be age 21 and over to attend. Tickets are $65 per person. Pre-registration is required.

Member dentists must pay for themselves and their staff. Each individual person must be registered by name for registration and check-in purposes the evening of the event. Non-registrants will NOT be granted admission to the event.

Admission is available to the first 300 registrants. Registration must be completed by April 17, 2023

The Role of the Dentist in Reducing HPV related Oral Cancers

Michael Weinstein, Director of the New Jersey Immunization (NJIN), works at the New Jersey Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics (NJAAP) where he also serves as its Director of Communications.  He is a certified classroom educator (BME) having worked with students from Elementary school through college. 

In 1982, Michael changed professional direction and joined a boutique public relations agency in New Your City, specializing in health and wellness.  Michael spent nearly 30 years with the agency, eventually rising to become its Managing Partner.

Changing direction yet again in 2011, Michael joined the NJAAP, serving as both its Director of Communications and Director of the Chapter’s Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention project (CAN).  During his 7-year tenure as CAN Director, Michael elevated both the scope and reach of the CAN project, conducting on average 45 trainings per year to medical health professionals across the state.

In July of 2017, Michael was approached by NJIN leadership and asked to takes the reins.  As Director, Human Papilloma Virus infections have risen to the top of his “passions” list.  NJIN introduced the HPV ECHO Project to primary care providers in 2017, and recognizing the role dental professionals could play project participants. 

Michael lives in Freehold, NJ, and has been happily married to his wife Kathy for 38 years.  He has two grown daughters, both having received the HPV vaccine, and credits them for his affinity for taking on challenges.

The Complete and Honest Medical History: Do You Really Obtain One and Do You Ignore It? Practice at Your Own Risk!

Dr. Mitchell Gardiner is a 1977 graduate of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. After serving for 3 years in the Navy, Dr. Gardiner entered private dental practice. He is a full time general dentist in a multi-specialty practice in New Jersey.  For over 25 years Dr. Gardiner has reviewed dental malpractice lawsuits, often testifying in court as an expert witness.  He lectures throughout the United States and Canada on issues of dental malpractice and standards of care.  Dr. Gardiner is on the faculty of the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine teaching fixed prosthodontics. He is Assistant Clinical Professor of Restorative Dentistry. He has been awarded Fellowships in The Academy of General Dentistry, The American College of Dentists, and The International College of Dentists. Dr. Gardiner is a Life Member of the American Dental Association.
